Bayshore Fishing Derby is May 21
The always-popular derby is open to experienced anglers and newbies alike! Park employees will show you how to rig and cast poles.

The Monmouth County Park System will host its always-popular annual Bayshore Fishing Derby at Bayshore Waterfront Park off Port Monmouth Road in Port Monmouth on Saturday, May 21.
Held from 4-7 p.m., this derby is open to beginners as well as experienced anglers. Park System naturalists will be on hand to teach those just getting started how to rig and cast their poles. The event will also feature seining demonstrations.
The cost to enter the derby is $8 per person; $4 per additional person. Pre-registration is accepted online at www.monmouthcountyparks.com or by calling 732-842-4000, ext. 1. Event day registration is cash or check only. Participants must supply their own fishing poles, tackle and bait. Those competing must fish from the beach. Prizes will be awarded for the longest fish in three different age categories.
