Lack of Information for Elections in this day and age so very sad!
When I was old enough to vote my father sat me down and informed me about voting, how important it was and the process. He shared various things and one of them was never waste a vote! The other was to ALWAYS read the questions. I turned 18 in the 70's and seeking out the entire question was a little more challenging then it is today thanks to the Internet, etc. I was taught to seek out the entire question to get a clear understanding before voting. The ballots NEVER list the entire public question in detail nor does the interpretive statement go into details. WHY do we NOT get the entire public question/s in detail? How can we truly make a good decision? Not getting the entire question is very misleading and in my opinion is like being sneaky, not truthful. I would like to know Why IS THAT ? If I did that in my job I would be fired.
For you who never saw the details that was NOT on the ballot for the public question.

1) This act is the New Jersey government asking voters for permission to borrow $500,000,000 (500 million dollars). New Jersey owes around $221 billion dollars. The budget (income) is only around $35 billion dollars (and shrinking due to flight of taxpayers..2) The bonds (loan) will be paid back with money collected from the STATE SALES TAX.
3) Now here’s the the SMALL PRINT... Section 21b... If for any reason, they don’t have the money to pay back these loans,
“We The People” who vote “yes” for this bond bill are GIVING THE STATE FULL LEGAL AUTHORITY to RAISE OUR REAL ESTATE TAXES ANY AMOUNT NECESSARY.
4) This AFFECTS EVERY PERSON living in or owning property in New Jersey. The only way you’d know this detail is if you read the entire bill which most people never do. The explanation on the ballot doesn’t mention this hidden taxing authority in any manner.
5) The NJ CONSTITUTION says all loans MUST BE APPROVED BY THE VOTERS.
If not, they are not legal debts. Wall Street banks now insist on getting voter approval from the voters to protect themselves. Otherwise they will not loan the state any more money. They know that tax payers will not have to pay back any unconstitutional loans. Bankers are smart.
The Bond Bill, S2293!

My next concern after viewing the ballot for my town Rumson is how did most town folks make a good decision on the nominations for the RFH Board of Education and the Rumson Board of Education selections? I searched everywhere for some information on these individuals. I goggled searched, called the County Board of Election office, they couldn't help. I searched the school site nothing, contacted the RFH Regional school, they suggested I speak with the Board of Ed. office. The BOE office said " I can't help you" I asked if I did in fact have the BOE office and was told yes. I said "how could you not help or guide me to get information when these individuals were in fact running for the office she worked in" ? "I'm sorry I can't help, I don't know". When I asked some people I know in town, who have children in the school system, about the candidates running to maybe get some in sight. Here are some of the responses I got "Oh I know so and so running he/she is a good person" Or "they have been on the Board they must be good". "I have no idea I'll decide when I get in the booth to vote", "Hey its just the BOE". WOW what a way to make a selection on voting.
The elections almost over, I can not fathom in this day and age with all the technology out there we the people were not offered a way to get information to get educated on making a good decision towards the candidates who will represent our school board. These candidates are responsible for future budgets that could affect our taxes if the opportunity arises.
With this election being so big/important to our Country it is disturbing we the people are not offered the in-depth detail to the questions/s on the ballots and our BOE will be voted in based on ????... how dare this happen !
