Fair Haven Teen Shaves His Head for Tourette Syndrome Awareness
Jacob Gerbman is starring as Uncle Fester in the Rumson-Fair Haven High School production of the Addams Family
Jacob Gerbman is true to his word. After raising more than $7,000 for NJ Center for Tourette Syndrome (NJCTS), he shaved his head to play the role of Uncle Fester in the Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School production of The Addams Family.
"The Shave" took place on Friday, March 15, at the Old World Shaving Parlor in Red Bank with his family, friends and castmates in attendance and it was live streamed so those who donated could watch.
Gerbman is an NJCTS Youth Advocate and educates others about TS and shares his own story. “This crazy gesture speaks to how important NJCTS has been in my life,” said Gerbman, who was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome in the 4th grade. “Since that moment NJCTS has played a huge role in helping me find ways to be open and educate people about my condition.”
