Here's Who Filed For Rumson Borough Council In 2021
Two candidates are running for two open seats on the Rumson Borough Council this year.

RUMSON, NJ - Two seats are up for grabs on the Rumson Borough Council this year, and two candidates have filed for a spot.
Two incumbents, John J Conklin III and Sarah H. Pomphrey will be running unopposed for their seats. Both candidates are Republican, according to the borough clerk’s office. No Democrats filed to run this year.
Conklin first joined the borough council in January 2015. He is a private investor and CPA. He served for 19 years on the Rumson Zoning Board of Adjustment and was chairman of the Zoning Board for 12 years. He also served for over a decade on the Board of Trustees of the Spring House, an Eatontown-based transitional home for women.

Pomphrey has lived in Rumson for over 30 years, marrying her husband at 19 at Rumson Presbyterian Church, according to the Two River times. The Pomphrey family can trace its roots back to the borough since 1906 and was even honored with Pomphrey Pond in 2011. She was first elected to the borough council following the resignation of council member Mark Rubin in February. In the past, she has assisted in the local PTA, the annual Christmas tree lighting and Rumson Memorial Day Parade.
