Life Guard Ecumenical Foundation to Hold Annual Yard Sale
Giant Yard Sale to help local families in need - Saturday, October 20, 2019
Life Guard Ecumenical Foundation (LGEF) is holding a FALL YARD SALE on Saturday, October 20 from 8 am until 2 pm at 179 Harrison Avenue in Fair Haven (corner of Harrison/Ridge).
LGEF was started by a small group of friends and neighbors that were looking to help people in the local area. Now celebrating 10 years as a nonprofit, 501(c)(3), they have assisted over 160 local families in need.
Just as a lifeguard sits on his stand and actively searches for those in need, such is the purpose of LGEF. Since their inception, they have organized events that have raised funds for food gift cards, overdue utility bills, medical bills, and expensive life-dependent medications.

They are committed to finding and helping local families that have fallen on hard times. Their mission is to spread a spirit of giving, encouraging our friends and neighbors to add a philanthropic element to their lives and community.
Each fall their community yard sale raises funds to cover their operating expenses, so that any other monies raised throughout the year go directly to their beneficiaries. This yard sale over time has developed quite the reputation. Devoted attendees come to shop for “good stuff” along with families who come because they need clothing and household goods. Finally, everything leftover gets donated to another non-profit, which closes the loop of giving.
