Local Business Owners Improve Rumson Municipal Boat Ramp
Tim and Phil Shaheen donated time and materials to build a new roof at the boat ramp in honor of their family business turning 90.
RUMSON — One local business celebrated its 90th anniversary by giving back to the borough community.
Builders' General Supply Co., of Little Silver, and the Shaheen family recently donated both the time and the resources to build a new roof at the Rumson Municipal Boat Ramp.
Founded in 1931, the construction supply company is now run by third-generation brothers Tim and Phil Shaheen, a Rumson family. Over the past month, the brothers built the new roof in honor of their family business' 90th anniversary.

“The Borough is very grateful for Tim, Phil, the Shaheen family and everyone at Builders’ Generally Supply Co.,” Rumson Mayor Joseph Hemphill said in a statement. “Their generosity will provide additional shade for everyone that visits the Rumson boat ramp for years to come. On behalf of Borough Council, we want to thank the Shaheen family and congratulate them on 90 years of excellence. Here’s to 90 more!”
Borough officials also reminded residents that in addition to completing the paper annual boat ramp application and fee, you now how have the option to complete the process online.

Online applications will have a two to four-business day turn around before being labeled ready for pickup at Borough Hall or mailed via USPS.
