Monmouth Beach Wedding Guests Rescue Newark Man Floating In Ocean
An unconscious Newark man was rescued by two guests at a Monmouth Beach wedding on Saturday.
SEA BRIGHT, NJ – A Newark man found floating off the coast of Monmouth Beach was saved by a nearby wedding party on Saturday evening, according to the Asbury Park Press.
Local couple Mario and Sharon Parisi were renewing their vows on the beachfront nearby when guests spotted a body floating unconscious in the water. At approximately 6:15 p.m., two attendees swam out to rescue the individual, pulling the floating man to shore and performing CPR.
One individual involved in the rescue, Branchburg resident Tommy Loconte, 58, told the Asbury Park Press that the unidentified man coughed up blood and water after he was given three minutes of CPR. It was only after the man was given the life-saving procedure that he began to appear responsive and open his eyes.
