RUMSON, NJ - The Oceanic Bridge in Rumson was closed Tuesday morning due to electrical issues, according to authorities.

Per a municipal alert via Nixle, the Rumson Police Department announced that the bridge connecting Rumson and Middletown had been closed “until further notice.”

Det. Christopher Isherwood told Patch that the bridge experienced a "power issue" that has since been repaired.

In a 7:35 a.m. Facebook post, the department noted that the Monmouth County Highway Division was performing work on Rumson Road between Hance Road and Fair Haven Road for approximately two hours.

“Due to this project, they will have the road closed to facilitate these repairs. Please avoid this area and utilize alternate routes,” the department wrote. “Monmouth County Highway will be coordinating the traffic control for this project, and can answer any questions or concerns.”

As of 10:58 a.m., the bridge was reopened in both directions.
