RFH 2016 Grad Launches On-Demand Video Workout Library
22-year-old Jordanna Drazin transitions a fun quarantine activity with friends into her own digital business.

Fair Haven, NJ (October 9, 2020) - On August 26, 2020, Jordanna Drazin, RFH 2016, launched Schvitzscription, a video based on-demand exercise library.
Jordanna started her freshman year at The Newhouse School at Syracuse University in August of 2016. Sophomore year, Drazin had an internship in NYC which came with a substantial discount to an otherwise unaffordable gym. She promptly fell in love with working out. In July of 2019, Drazin launched an Instagram account, @thedailyschvitz, as a way to journal her workout journey. Drazin’s Instagram has a distinct touch - it is raw and genuine about her relationship with exercise and food. As Drazin hoped, @thedailyschvitz thrived and with that growth came an intensely loyal following.
Like many others throughout the first half of the pandemic, Drazin and her friends worried about how they would maintain their fitness routine with all of the gyms closed. As the weather began to warm, Drazin took it upon herself to teach socially distanced workout classes in her backyard, as a way to both safely see her friends again, and get back into exercising. Like many 2020 graduates, as a casualty of the pandemic, Drazin’s job prospects dried up. So, as her outdoor classes took off, she realized it was time to offer the classes via Zoom to her Instagram followers. Immediately, she had between 15-20 people per class. As a celebration of 5,000 followers on Instagram, Jordanna offered a free 30 minute HIIT class, which 200 people signed up for.

As the world slowly started to return to normal scheduling with the reopening of schools and work, people started to direct message her saying that they could no longer make her classes at the times they were offered, and asked if a recording was available. Drazin knew it was time to create an on-demand video library. With intense dedication, Drazin was able to launch her video library within a month and the success has been swift and immensely gratifying. Excerpts from texts she receives from subscribers include: “There are so many classes out there but yours are just special”, “You really have a knack for this - it’s the perfect balance of everything!” and “This is one of the first low impact workouts that actually felt like a workout, (and, it was way more fun than running!)”.
Drazin’s purpose for the library is two-fold: 1) With gyms at reduced capacity due to the pandemic, she wanted a way to provide her classes for anyone to take at any time, anywhere. People can do all of their workouts in an apartment or a dorm. 2) To make it very it very affordable - because price should never be a barrier to working out! Schvitzscription is $100 for the year or $10 per month.
