Rumson Grad Awarded Scholarship From Local Garden Club

Jack Spagnuola, a recent Rumson-Fair Haven High School graduate, will be studying biology at Villanova University this fall.

RUMSON, NJ – A Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School 2020 graduate was recently honored with a scholarship from the Rumson Garden Club.

Jack Spagnuola was recently awarded with the Rita Boyle Memorial Scholarship from the organization, according to a release. The scholarship is provided annually to support students who demonstrate an interest in horticulture, landscape design and environmental sciences.

Spagnuola will be attending Villanova University this fall and plans to study biology. The incoming freshman will be focusing on how the environment affects humans on medical and social levels.

“I am happy to be able to give this award to such a qualified candidate. I wish Jack continued success in his academic studies. We need more smart people like Jack focused in environmental science,” Robert Boyle, husband of the former garden club president, said in the release.

The over 100-year-old Rumson Garden Club provides field trips, lectures and workshops designed to incite appreciation and knowledge of horticulture in the community. For more information about the organization, visit www.rumsongardenclubnj.org.
