Rumson Jewelry Store Owner Charged With Theft: Prosecutor
Store owner Anthony Goltsch kept merchandise intended for consignment or redesign, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.
RUMSON, NJ – The owner of a Rumson jewelry store was charged with theft on Thursday after failing to return jewelry worth a total of more than $260,0000, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
Anthony Goltsch of Manchester was charged with second degree theft by failure to make required disposition of property retrieved. The jewelry was left at his store – Golden Goose on West River Road in Rumson – on consignment or for redesign, the Prosecutor’s Office said.
The Rumson Police Department also reported several complaints from three store customers over the past several months. Customers complained that Goltsch would not pay them any cash proceeds or return the jewelry. An investigation conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office and Rumson police found three victims who did not receive any payment from Golsch or a return of the items associated with the theft.
