Rumson Lacrosse Player, Known For 'Contagious' Laugh, Dies At 16
A junior at Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School and a member of its lacrosse team died Sunday. He was 16 years old.

RUMSON, NJ — A junior at Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School and a member of its lacrosse team died over the weekend. He was 16 years old.
Peter Carl "Pierce" Jarck Jr., 16, died on Sunday, Oct. 15. He was born in New York City in December 2000 and lived in Rumson with his family, according to his obituary.
Pierce was passionate about lacrosse and was a long-stick midfielder for the Rumson-Fair Haven Bulldogs varsity lacrosse team and NJ Riot, an elite travel team. "Pierce's contagious laugh, witty sense of humor and unparalleled loyalty made him a beloved leader and consummate teammate," his family wrote. "When not on the field, Pierce loved surfing, weight-lifting, and he loved to cook and hang out with his family and friends."

Pierce is survived by his parents, Peter and Lori Jarck; his sisters, Nicole and Kaitlin; his grandparents, James and Kerry Jacobson and Klaus and Ingrid Eifert; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Related: More NJ Teens Are Committing Suicide: Why It's Happening And What Can Be Done

A memorial service will be held at the Navesink Country Club, 50 Luffburrow Lane, Middletown, New Jersey, on Friday, Oct. 20 at 1:30 p.m. A celebration of Pierce's life will immediately follow the service.
