Unconfirmed Report Of Woman With Knife Near Rumson School: Cops

Holy Cross School and Rumson County Day School were put under lockdown "for safety precautions" on Friday, according to authorities.

RUMSON, NJ - The Rumson Police Department alerted residents of an unconfirmed report of a woman with a knife in the area of two local schools, authorities said Friday.

At approximately 8:52 a.m. on Nov. 6, officers from Rumson Police, Sea Bright Police, Fair Haven Police and the Monmouth County Sheriff's Department responded to the area of the Holy Cross School for a report of a woman with a knife.

Holy Cross School and neighboring Rumson County Day School were put into a lockdown for safety precautions.

The area was “thoroughly checked” by the responding agencies. However, the alleged actor was not located, according to a 12:22 p.m. update.

“At this point in time the incident is unconfirmed but still under investigation,” the Rumson Police Department wrote.
