Another Eclipse Is Just A Few Years Away — And It's Going To Be Big In Cleveland
Ohioans did not get the full eclipse experience on Monday, but they will when the next one happens.
The eclipse of 2017 has come and gone, but people of Cleveland mark your calendars for April 8, 2024. That’s when the next total solar eclipse will happen for those of us in the northern hemisphere. Cleveland and other parts of Ohio will be in the so-called path of totality.
Yep, that means we’ll get the full bark-at-the-moon experience. So save those special cardboard glasses you scurried around to find for Monday’s eclipse and start planning your eclipse party.
The 2024 eclipse path will come from Mexico through Texas, proceed through Carbondale, Ill., and onto New York and Maine, according to NASA. If you can’t wait until 2024 for an eclipse, NASA says you don’t necessarily have to wait. But, you’ll need to pack your bags.
The next solar eclipse occurs on Feb. 15, 2018 and is a partial eclipse visible in Antarctica and South America. The next total solar eclipse is on July 2, 2019 with totality running through Chili and Argentina.
