Bojangles Plans 15 Restaurant Expansion Into Ohio
The fried chicken chain will bring its brand of fast food to the Buckeye State while expanding nationally.

OHIO — Fried chicken restaurant chain Bojangles is planning a national expansion that will see new locations open in Ohio, according to reports.
Bojangles is a powerhouse brand in the southeast, but has rarely ventured beyond that region, Forbes noted. That is changing in coming years, with plans to expand into the Buckeye State, Florida, Georgia, New York and Texas.
Jeff Rigsby, a longtime franchisee for Bojangles, agreed to open 15 Bojangles locations in central Ohio, primarily around the Columbus market. Details on where specifically the restaurants will be placed has not yet been released.

“Jeff has been a valued partner of the Bojangles brand for over 20 years, and we could not be more thrilled to extend this business relationship to 45 new locations, including expansion into a new market for our brand,” said Jose Costa, chief development officer for Bojangles.
Beyond his plans for Ohio, Rigsby signed a deal to open an additional 30 locations in Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

“Over the past 20 years, my partnership with Bojangles has been rewarding and full of growth, and this major milestone and accompanying investment deal is a perfect indicator of that,” Rigsby said in a news release. “I’m grateful for what we’ve accomplished together, and I’m excited for what’s to come.”
