Browns Beat Steelers, Win 1st Playoff Game Since 1994
The Cleveland Browns trotted to a historic 28-0 lead in the first quarter of their Wild Card game.

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns demolished their rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers, to win the franchise's first playoff game in nearly 30 years.
The Browns scored a touchdown on the first play of the game, when a bad snap by Pittsburgh led to a fumble recovered in the end zone. Things only got better for Cleveland from there. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw three interceptions in the first two quarters, leading to three more touchdowns for Cleveland.
The score was 28-0 after the first quarter.

The Steelers rallied to score a touchdown before the end of the second quarter, making the score 28-7. But the Browns responded by a scoring a touchdown before half, making the score 35-7 at halftime.
Pittsburgh found a second wind in the second half and rallied to score two touchdowns in the third quarter, narrowing the lead to 35-23. The two teams traded touchdowns, but Cleveland notched another field goal to make the score 42-29.

But Cleveland intercepted Roethlisberger a fourth time in the fourth quarter to effectively seal the game. The Browns added two more field goals, bringing the score to 48-29. Pittsburgh scored a last gasp touchdown, making the game's final score 48-37.
Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield finished the game with 263 yards and three touchdowns. Nick Chubb rushed for 76 yards, while Kareem Hunt had two touchdowns and 48 yards.
Cleveland hadn't made the playoffs since 2003 and hadn't won a playoff game since 1994, when they beat the New England Patriots in the Wild Card round.
With the victory, the Browns will head to Kansas City to take on the AFC's No. 1 seed, the Chiefs. That game will be played on Jan. 17 at 3:05 p.m.
