Cedar Point Raising Ticket Prices

The amusement park will now cost $72 per ticket. Attendees can still get a discount by buying their tickets ahead of time.

SANDUSKY, OH — Cedar Point is raising ticket costs by $5. Folks wanting to check out the Millennium Force or Top Thrill Dragster will now need to pay $72 for a daily adult ticket.

There are still ways to save money if the family is planning a trip to the park. For one, Cedar Point is offering a discount deal on preseason ticket sales, during which daily adult tickets will cost $45. There is also a two-day, two park ticket that allows attendees to get a second day at the park for only $25, Fox 8 reported.

Last year, the park also partnered with the Cleveland Browns to offer discounted tickets. Basically, fans in attendance at the Oct. 1, Browns-Bengals game were able to get cheaper than gate cost tickets. The park will likely more promotions during the 2018 season, though it's unclear if they'll repeat the Browns' partnership.

Cedar Point will open for the season on May 5. The park's newest attraction is the Steel Vengeance, a steel-on-wood coaster that replaces Mean Streak. With typical amusement park bluster, Cedar Point is calling the ride a "hyper hybrid."

“This is another roller coaster that only Cedar Point could build – tallest, fastest and longest of its kind with four inversions and the exciting movements the hybrid design can achieve,” said Jason McClure, vice president and general manager of Cedar Point, in a press release. “There are so many unexpected moments on Steel Vengeance, it’s just plain twisted. It’ll be an extremely wild experience for our guests.”

There will also be new shops and other businesses at the park. But the new coaster is likely to draw in thrill seekers and adrenaline junkies.
