Cleveland Election Results: Jackson Wins Record Fourth Term

CLEVELAND, OH – The polls have closed and results show that Mayor Frank Jackson winning a fourth term in office, making him the longest serving mayor in the city's history. Unofficial election night results show that Jackson had 60 percent of the vote, with 90 percent of the city's voting precincts reporting.

He faced a challenge from long-time Ward 2 City Councilman Zack Reed, whose campaigned argued the city needed to address its murder rate and municipal violence. Reed conceded the race just after 11 p.m.

"We made a big difference," Reed told reporters. "I have no regrets."

Meanwhile, two of Reed's council colleagues also felt Election Day wrath. Incumbents TJ Dow, Ward 7, and Brian Cummins, Ward 14, were upset and lost to challengers, Basheer Jones and Jasmin Santana, respectively. And, another race, in Ward 1 between Joe Jone and Terrell Pruitt was too close to call.
