Cleveland Skating Rink Opens Nov. 24, Free Skating That Day

The city's annual "Winterfest" celebration will be held the Saturday after Thanksgiving. There's free skating during the party.

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Skating Rink will open November 24, during the city's annual "Winterfest" celebration. The rink will offer free skating to guests that day.

Winterfest is a free holiday kick-off event. City officials will light Cleveland's own Christmas Tree on Public Square at 6 p.m. Before the lighting, starting at about 1 p.m., there's free ice skating, a Christmas village, kids activities, live music, and food. There will also be a fireworks show at the conclusion of the evening. The rink is open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. that Saturday.

After Winterfest, tickets for the rink are $10 per person, which includes skate rental. People with their own ice skates will only pay $7. Online ticket sales will start November 19. On-site tickets can be bought at the ticketing tent in The Square.
