Cuyahoga County Approaches Worst COVID-19 Classification
Cuyahoga County ranks No. 17 statewide for its COVID-19 case rate.

CLEVELAND — Cuyahoga County ranks No. 17 of Ohio's 88 counties in highest COVID-19 case rate per 100,000 residents.
Between March 10 and March 23, there were 2,062 COVID-19 cases confirmed among Cuyahoga County residents. That's a case rate of 167 per 100,000 residents, the Ohio Department of Health said.
Clark County has the worst COVID-19 case rate in Ohio, 253.6 per 100,000 residents. Neighboring Lorain County's case rate is 148.5 per 100,000 residents.

Cuyahoga County is still classified as "red" by the Ohio Department of Health for its COVID-19 spread. That's the second-worst color classification a county can receive. The county is approaching the worst color classification, health officials said.
COVID-19 vaccination continues to occur throughout Ohio, and more than 338,470 Cuyahoga County residents have started the COVID-19 vaccination process. That's approximately 27 percent of the county's residents, the Ohio Department of Health said.
