Local Indoor Cycling Studio Welcomes Community Back in with New Safety Measures

With consent from the local government in the greater Cleveland area, and in collaboration with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), CycleBar Hudson is excited to announce it will be reopening to the public on May 29. Implementing a variety of precautionary measures, the CycleBar studio will continue to provide all five of its high-energy, low-impact and multisensory indoor cycling classes in a safe and healthy environment.

While CycleBar Hudson has always taken pride in safety and cleanliness, its team has been working closely with the CDC on its reopening plans, including what ideal class sizes and studio layout look like. Below are a few of the measures being implemented at the studio to provide a safe, hygienic and stress-free environment:

  • Signage that clearly identifies flow of traffic
  • Changing studio layout to respect social distancing of six feet
  • Reducing the studio’s capacity in association with local government officials
  • Sanitation stations available in the lobby, as well as in the studio
  • Exhibiting a culture of “no touch” (mobile app sign-in, limited locker room use)
  • Installation of the REME HALO purifier, a state-of-the-art purification system

CycleBar Hudson entered the community in 2018 and is owned and operated by local John Wood. Before becoming a CycleBar franchisee, Wood worked as a pharmaceutical sales representative for a number of years. Having always lived a healthy and active lifestyle, Wood always wanted to work in the fitness and sports industry, but didn’t know where to start. He heard about CycleBar from a neighbor and instantly fell in love with the class structure and the workouts. Seeing there wasn’t a CycleBar studio in the area, Wood grabbed the opportunity at business ownership and opened a new studio close to home.

“The concept of indoor cycling has been around for about 20 years, but CycleBar has completely revolutionized what the typical ‘ride’ looks like,” said Wood. “Our bikes utilize state-of-the-art technology to give each rider the most efficient ride possible.”

Since the pandemic began, CycleBar studios across the country have been adapting with the ever-changing climate and creating new and innovative ways to interact with their members. Some of those noteworthy strategies include their new online platform CycleBar GO, which includes live and on-demand workouts that can turn any room into a CycleTheatre®. Some studios have also entrusted members with their studio’s proprietary stationary Schwinn bikes, renting them out during the stay-at-home order.

“We don’t know what tomorrow will look like, and our studio has been monitoring the news everyday about new developments with the pandemic,” said Wood. “What we do know is that are members are eager to come back, and now that we have safety precautions established, we can do that.
