"Dear Evan Hansen," the hit Broadway musical that won six Tony Awards in 2017, including Best Musical, is coming to Cleveland in June for nearly three weeks of performances at Playhouse Square.

The show, which is making its first national tour, is the story of a socially awkward teenager whose therapist suggests he start writing upbeat letters to himself to improve his outlook and overcome his anxieties. But when one of the letters finds its way into the hands of a schoolmate who later commits suicide, Evan sparks a complex chain of events that thoroughly test his resilience and emotional strength before he finds a measure of peace.

The show was nominated for nine Tonys and won five besides Best Musical, including Best Actor Ben Platt and Best Score.
