Detroit-Superior Bridge Closing Thursday Night
Drivers who utilize the bridge overnight will need to find a different route into and out of Cleveland.

CLEVELAND — Work on the Detroit-Superior bridge will lead to the bridge's closing on Thursday night. Traffic will be detoured while crews do concrete brick overlays.
The bridge will be closed starting Thursday at 7 p.m. The Ohio Department of Transportation said the bridge will remain closed until 6 a.m. on Thursday morning. All construction timelines are weather dependent.
During the bridge's closure, eastbound traffic will be detoured to W. 28th street then to SR 2 east then to Lakeside Avenue to W. 3rd and then to Superior Avenue.

Westbound traffic will be detoured to W. 3rd Street to Lakeside Avenue to SR 2 west to W. 49th Street.
Another bridge in Cuyahoga County will undergo construction this week. The Harvard Avenue Bridge, over I-77 North, in Newburgh Heights and Cuyahoga Heights, will have limited closures starting Friday, September 27, and continuing through Monday, September 30.

ODOT crews will be painting the bridge. To accommodate the work, I-77 north at I-480, I-77 south at I-490, I-480 east and west ramps to I-77 north and I-490 east to I-77 south will be detoured to SR 176.
Only limited local access will be maintained during the I-77 closure.
An earlier version of this story said the bridge would close Wednesday night. ODOT has since said corrected its announcement and said the bridge will close Thursday.
