Election Results Fair And Accurate, Ohio Patch Reader Survey Says
Most who responded to Patch's survey believe both state and national election results are fair, but there are strong opinions on both sides.

OHIO —A majority of the over 150 people who responded to Patch's non-scientific voting survey this week said they believe both state and national election results are fair and accurate, but readers had strong opinions whether they agreed or not.
The survey, which appeared in questionnaire form Wednesday on Patch, is meant not to be a scientific poll but only to give a broad idea of public sentiment.
A majority of the respondents said they either voted early in-person or voted absentee by mail and either mailed in their ballot or dropped it off. About 27 percent of respondents said they voted in-person on Election Day.

Still, though the majority did drop off their ballots, it apparently wasn't over a lack of confidence in the system. Over 55 percent of respondents strongly agreed that voting by mail is safe, reliable and generally free of fraud.

For those who mailed in their ballots, 31 percent said they felt more confident about voting by mail and 57.4 percent of respondents said their confidence level was unchanged.
"I dropped off my absentee ballot at the Cuyahoga county Board of Elections building," one respondent said. "I wish there were more drop-off locations around the county. Having only one location was not convenient. I did not want to mail in the ballot as there had been reports of delays with the Post Office service."
One person felt strongly that mail-in ballots contribute to fraud.
"Mail in ballots are an open door to fraud," they wrote. "I think everyone should vote at their local polling location on election day. Only extreme situations should be considered valid reason for a mail in ballot."
Another person said they were happy with the process after having moved to Ohio from another state.
"I had no adverse experiences voting this year. Even with odds against me. I had just moved from out of state and still carried my out of state drivers license. Officials made it easy for me to vote by mail. Thank you"
One person had confidence in Ohio's mail-in voting system but disagreed with other states that had extended deadlines for receiving ballots.
"The State of Ohio managed a seamless, transparent mail in ballot process," the person said. "However, I strongly disagree with other States that flooded the electorate with other types of mail in ballots AND then allowed for submission after November 3. We need a national election due date. In our State, our absentee ballots should be the model for a national mail in ballot because if verifies the sender with drivers license of social security numbers."
