Stolen Vehicle Strikes Another Vehicle On East Side

Two vehicles collided late Nov. 16, and five men were hospitalized for their injuries from the collision.

CLEVELAND, OH -- A collision in the intersection of E. 78th Street and Union Avenue around 10:30 p.m. Nov. 16 left five men from the two vehicles hospitalized. One of the vehicles, a Ford Fusion, was traveling at a high speed westbound on Union. The other vehicle, a Nissan Sentra, was heading southbound on E. 78th Street.

According to the Cleveland Police, the Fusion was reported stolen, and the driver, a 17-year-old man, was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries. Two passengers in the Fusion, a 16-year-old man and 18-year-old Delshaun Bell, were hospitalized at MetroHealth.

The driver of the Sentra, 26-year-old Mark Moore, and a passenger, 26-year-old Jesse Fairley, were hospitalized at MetroHealth. A third man, 24-year-old Emmanuel Ricardo Velez, died at MetroHealth Nov. 17, according to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office.
