It's been six years since Greater Cleveland saw summer temperatures in the low 60s.

CLEVELAND — After destructive storms swept through northern Ohio on Sunday and Monday, Greater Cleveland residents awoke to unseasonably cool temperatures on Tuesday.

The projected high for the day is 61 degrees, the National Weather Service said. The overnight low will fall to 52 degrees.

How long will the cool stretch last? Not long, actually. Things will return to being very hot, very soon.

According to forecasts from the National Weather Service, Wednesday's high is in the mid-70s (though overnight lows will see temperatures plunge into the low 60s or high 50s again). By Thursday, however, temperatures will be in the mid- to upper-80s during the day again and in the low 70s overnight.

There should also be plenty of rain on the way, with showers likely on Friday night and over the coming weekend, the National Weather Service said.
