How Many People Have Entered OH Vax-a-Million $1 Million Lottery?

Since Ohio's controversial lottery program was announced, interest in vaccines has increased rapidly.

COLUMBUS, OH — Ohio's Vax-a-Million lottery program opened Tuesday morning and thousands of residents have already registered for a chance to win $1 million.

“This is a unique, innovative way to encourage COVID-19 vaccinations, and we are pleased to see so much activity today,” said Ohio Department of Health Director Stephanie McCloud. “In addition, we are seeing early indicators of increased uptake after the Vax-a-Million announcement last week, and will continue to monitor this moving forward.”

By Tuesday afternoon, the Vax-a-Million website had more than 25 million page views and the Ohio Department of Health call center had received more than 60,000 calls.

Health department officials said they're not releasing the official number of entries until Monday after the first winner is selected and the verification process is complete.
