CLEVELAND, OH —The 2017 Indians took another giant step toward etching their name in the history books, winning their 20th straight game by beating the Detroit Tigers 2-0 on Tuesday. The Tribe ties the 2002 Oakland A’s with the third longest winning streak in baseball streak.
The Indians are now chasing the 1935 Chicago Cubs, which had a 23-game win streak, and the 1916 New York Giants, which won 26 games straight. They play Detroit on Wednesday afternoon, and look to win their 21st straight game.
Tribe pitcher Corey Kluber collected his 16th win and went the distance, throwing nine shutout innings, giving up a mere five hits and racking up eight strikeouts.
