ESPN's Josina Anderson reported that at least eight teams called the Browns asking about the possibility of a trade after the team announced Saturday they intended to release Gordon on Monday.

When healthy, Gordon has shown that he can be one of the league's dynamic players. But his time in the league has been marred by a drug suspension that cost him the 2015 season. He spent the next season in rehab. and played only five games for Cleveland last year.

Gordon was selected by the Browns in the 2012 supplemental draft out of Baylor. Gordon has claimed that the Baylor coaching staff helped him cheat on drug tests while in college, according to media reports.

In addition, the Browns announced that the team signed wide receiver Rod Streater.

Streater is 6-2, 195-pounds and in his sixth NFL season out of Temple. He was signed by Oakland as an undrafted free agent in 2012 and has appeared in 52 games with the Raiders (36) and 49ers (16). He has recorded 127 receptions for 1,755 yards and 10 touchdowns. He spent the preseason with the Bills.
