Man Shot And Killed In Union-Miles Area Of Cleveland

CLEVELAND, OH -- Cleveland Police Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia reported that officers responded to 10612 Dove for shots fired around 8 p.m. Dec. 11. Upon their arrival, officers found Douglas Clements, 39, in the front seat of a Chevy Aveo, unresponsive and bleeding from the chest. Officers rendered first aid until EMS arrived and took Clements to MetroHealth Medical Center where he died from his injuries. Officers on scene learned that Clements was sitting in the vehicle parked in the driveway when a SUV (possibly a Jeep) began firing at the Chevy hitting the victim.

A second passenger in the vehicle was not injured during the shooting. The incident is being investigated as a homicide, according to Sgt. Ciaccia. No further information was available at this time.
