New West Side Rapid, Bus Lines Ready To Go In Cleveland

Commuters who used RTA will be happy to know that a new fleet of buses will greet them Dec. 3.

CLEVELAND, OH -- RTA officials had a busy weekend with the Christmas Story House Race Dec. 2 morning. The new West Side Red Line of the Rapid Transit will open Dec. 3. A fleet of newMetroHealth Line buses will begin serving riders in Ohio City, the Near West Side and the southern suburbs of Greater Cleveland.

The Red Line re-opens a 28-day shutdown to upgrade a large section of track in a $6.8 million project. RTA has seen improvements to the bus lines, although some outer suburb routes have been affected by cutbacks.
