Ohio Coronavirus Cases Cross 6,600; Deaths Top 250
The latest numbers from the Ohio Department of Health show an increase of over 300 cases from the previous day.
Over 6,600 cases of the new coronavirus have been diagnosed in Ohio, which includes 6,518 lab-confirmed cases and 86 cases of the illness that are considered positive under the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's expanded case definition. The latest numbers were released by the Ohio Department of Health Sunday afternoon.
Deaths from the illness have reached 253 in Ohio and five of those deaths fall under the expanded CDC criteria for reporting data related to COVID-19. The numbers represent an increase of over 300 confirmed cases from Saturday afternoon and six additional deaths.
Over 1,900 patients have required hospitalization due to the virus and the number of patients in intensive care units is nearing 600.

Cuyahoga County continues to lead the state with the most number of cases. As of Sunday afternoon, the county has 1,152 confirmed cases and 23 deaths. Franklin (943 cases, 14 deaths), Hamilton (535 cases, 17 deaths), Lucas (503 cases, 21 deaths) and Mahoning (417 cases, 31 deaths) counties follow with the most number of cases.
