OHSAA Replaces Executive Director Weeks Before Sports Resume
The Ohio High School Athletic Association has replaced its executive director.
COLUMBUS, OH — The Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) replaced its executive director Jerry Snodgrass on Tuesday, weeks before sports may resume in Ohio. The organization has named Dan Leffingwell as his interim replacement.
High schools sports have been given the OK to resume contact scrimmages and officials continue to work on safely restarting seasons in the fall. It's unclear why Snodgrass was ousted so close to sports resuming.
Snodgrass had been executive director since July 2018. He spent 12 years with OHSAA and had a 31-year career in education as a teacher, coach and administrator. OHSAA did not say why Snodgrass was being replaced.

Goldring was OHSAA senior director of operations and has been with the association for 25 years. He will begin work immediately, and the association will conduct a nationwide search for Snodgrass' full-time replacement.
"I am honored by the confidence the board has placed in me," Goldring said. "We have a solid team of knowledgeable and dedicated professionals at the OHSAA who are committed to serving our member schools. My top priorities are to prepare for return to play this fall and successfully lead the team until a permanent executive director is hired.”
