With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, creator of smash musicals including "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "The Phantom of the Opera," the stage version of "School of Rock" couldn’t be anything but a success. Add Glenn Slater with lyrics and Julian Fellowes, writer of "Downton Abbey," putting together the book and it’s no wonder this musical is selling out across the country.
The show is the story of Dewey Finn, a down-and-out substitute teacher who just wants to be a rock star. Finn teaches his students how to play rock and roll while falling hard for the school’s headmistress.
