Standoff With Armed Man In Maple Heights Is Over: Police
Police say the man assaulted two women and a 6-year-old was held in the home.

MAPLE HEIGHTS, OH — A standoff with an armed man holed up in a house along Thomas Street near Raymond Street this morning is over, according to police. A dispatcher for the Maple Heights police said officers were “clearing” the scene after the incident, but she declined to say how it concluded.
"It's safe for people to be in the area," the dispatcher. She said was not aware of any injuries to people involved in the incident.
Police were called to the scene earlier Monday morning for reports of a woman being assaulted and another woman being pistol whipped, the dispatcher said. There also was a 6-year-old boy in the home, she said. (To stay up to date on local stories, subscribe to the Patch Cleveland newsletter.
