Summer Splash In Public Square Starts June 1 In Cleveland

The free, annual program returns with expanded hours for kids this year.

CLEVELAND - The free program Summer Splash in the Square is returning June 1 to downtown Cleveland. This year, the program will have expanded hours, running from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

The program is designed to give kids an opportunity to partake in summer vacation-like programs while interacting with other children. Kids that participate in this year's program will visit landmarks like the Cleveland Public Library, The Cleveland Music Settlement, Art House, Upcycle, Holden Forests, Cleveland Monsters, Lake Erie Crushers, and more.

Participants will also get free lunch, thanks to the Cleveland Division of Recreation. The program will continue from June 1 to August 31.

"Last summer’s programming on Cleveland Foundation Centennial Plaza made quite the splash,” said Michael Murphy, chief marketing officer, Cleveland Foundation. “It’s wonderful that Greater Cleveland families and visitors will have another reason to come to Public Square this summer to take part in this free programming.”

More than 3,000 children took part in the 2018 Summer Splash programming. Organizers said they anticipate this year's activities will be even more popular. More information on the program can be found online.
