Vax-a-Million: Second $1 Million Winner Announced

Who won Ohio's second $1 million giveaway for vaccinated residents? Find out!

COLUMBUS, OH — Jonathan Carlyle won the $1 million prize in week two of the Vax-a-Million lottery giveaway.

Carlyle is a Toledo resident.

Abbigail Bugenseke claimed the $1 million prize in week one. As a condition of claiming the prize, the recipient must agree to be publicly announced and to accept a lump sum payment of the winnings.

“I am pleased that leading into the holiday weekend, data continued to show that our Ohio Vax-a-Million promotion continued to increase COVID-19 vaccinations compared to the period before the promotion announcement,” said Gov. Mike DeWine. “The vaccine remains our most powerful tool to fight the virus and for Ohioans to protect themselves and others. I encourage anyone considering getting the vaccine to not delay and take advantage of both vaccination opportunities and the Ohio Vax-a-Million promotion.”

The Vax-a-Million lottery awards $1 million prizes to randomly selected vaccinated Ohioans. The lottery will pick five winners in consecutive weeks, with the first winner announced Wednesday. Ohioans need to opt into the lottery for a chance to win.

The Vax-a-Million program has generated statewide and national interest in both the lottery and vaccination process, an outcome.

If you haven't yet registered, you can opt-into the lottery online.
