Woman Survives Crash After Going Airborne And Slamming Into Cleveland Bridge
Rescue crews needed to cut and pry to free her from the wrecked car.

CLEVELAND, OH — Firefighters needed to cut and pry a woman from her wrecked car after she hit a barrier, went airborne and slammed into an overpass on West 117th Street. The woman survived the crash and was able to talk to crash scene investigators before being taken to a nearby hospital, according to a report from WEWS-TV.
The crash happened just before 1 a.m., Tuesday, just south of Madison Avenue, and involved only the woman’s vehicle. The crash was so severe that parts of the woman’s vehicle were stuck to the overpass at the border of Cleveland and Lakewood.
Video footage from WEWS shows the crash’s aftermath and crews working to free the woman. (To stay up to date on these stories, subscribe to the Patch Cleveland newsletter. As news breaks and the story develops, you will be the first to receive updates from Patch.)
