ZZ Top, the Texas trio that has been churning out hits since the early 1970s, will bring its 50th Anniversary Tour to Cleveland's Jacobs Pavilion in September.

The band, originally formed in 1969, has featured the same lineup since 1970: guitarist/vocalist Billy F. Gibbons, bassist/vocalist Dusty Hill and drummer Frank Beard. That's the lineup that was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, after a career that included 11 gold, seven platinum and three multi-platinum albums and a total of 50 million albums sold.

"Eliminator," released in 1983, was the band's biggest-selling record, with 10 million copies sold. Sales got a huge boost from the band's music videos for "Legs" and "Sharp-Dressed Man," which were staples of MTV during its early days.

ZZ Top will be joined for the Cleveland date by fellow Rock Hall inductees Cheap Trick, best known for their hit, "I Want You To Want Me."
