The rails are part of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) network and allow freight from Texas and the south to access BNSF's main transcontinental network at Wichita. The lines also carry local cargo to/from the city's own intermodal rail yard.
A message on the Association's website explained the stream, "Our camera feed is the BNSF Red Rock Subdivision that runs right by the Museum going to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. You’ll also find Norfolk Southern, Ferromex, Union Pacific, KCS, CSX and Canadian Pacific trains on the line. Approximately 20-40 trains a day come through."
