Age 74, of Oklahoma City, OK, and previously of Illinois, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at his home. Born in Waukegan, IL, he was the son of the late John Rusty Jackson, and Clara (nee Nolen) and Walter Petruska. Following graduation from North Chicago High School, Class of 1961, John proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, during the Vietnam War. After his service, he earned his BS from Virginia Commonwealth University, and had a rewarding career as a Tax Accountant. He was a VFW member.

John is survived by his beloved, Darlene Smithhart of Oklahoma City, OK; sisters, Margaret “Peggy” Rommel of Grayslake, IL, Kathleen (Don) Fisher of Joliet, IL, and Elizabeth Petruska of San Jose, CA; three nephews; and one niece.

He was preceded by his parents.

Funeral Services and Military Honors for John Arthur Jackson were held in Norman, OK. Private inurnment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
