Oklahoma City School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Oklahoma City is August 1. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Oklahoma City Public School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 7/28: Teacher Work Day
• 7/31: Teacher Work Day

August

• 8/1: First Day of School

September

• 9/1: No School for Students (Parent Conference)
• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/22: End of First Quarter
• 9/25: Beginning of Second Quarter

October

• 10/9 - 10/11: No School for Students (Optional District PD Institute)
• 10/12 - 10/20: No School (Fall Break)

November

• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/13: End of Second Quarter
• 12/14 - 12/15: No School for Students (Optional District PD Institute)
• 12/18 - 12/29: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1 - 1/2: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/3: No School for Students (Professional Development)
• 1/4: Beginning of Third Quarter
• 1/15: No School (MLK Day)

February

• 2/9: No School for Students (Parent Conference)
