1. Man shot and killed in SW OKC apartment (kfor.com) — Police are investigating an early-morning fatal shooting at the Brookwood Village Apartments near SW 89th and Western in southwest Oklahoma City, where a 33-year-old man was found shot inside an open apartment. Detectives, CSI teams, and K-9 units searched the area after witnesses reported several people running from the scene, but no suspects are in custody yet.
   

2. Tragic death of 6-year-old sparks renewed calls for more sidewalks in South Oklahoma City (okcfox.com) — South Oklahoma City neighbors are grieving the death of 6-year-old Adrian Salgado, who was hit and killed by a school bus while crossing the street, and are demanding safer routes to school. City planners and a local lawmaker highlight missing sidewalks and traffic controls, noting that $1.8 million from the 2025 GO Bond is slated for new sidewalks near the affected neighborhood.
   

3. Oklahoma City silos to close doors after 25 years (news9.com) — A beloved Oklahoma City climbing gym, The Silos south of Bricktown, is closing by the end of the month after more than 25 years in business. Current operators say the unique grain-silo facility is no longer financially sustainable but hope new investors might step in to keep it a climbing space for the community.
   

4. Oklahoma City Zoo announces birth of zebra foal (koco.com) — Oklahoma City families can now visit Lyra, a newborn female Plains zebra foal, at the Oklahoma City Zoo’s Expedition Africa habitat, weather permitting. Born November 29 and weighing 97 pounds, Lyra is already walking and running alongside her zebra family as the zoo prepares to eventually merge the herd with wildebeest to mimic African savanna migrations.

Our Arklahoma Heritage: An incredible artistic journey began in 1924 Haskell County with the birth of Mary Baker-Fiegel (todayinfortsmith.com) — An Oklahoma-born artist who studied at Oklahoma City University and later settled in Oklahoma City built an international career in painting and sculpture, including a bronze of President Eisenhower at Stars and Stripes Park. Her life story traces a path from Haskell County farm roots to galleries in New York, Geneva, Monaco, and Tokyo, while her family and artistic legacy remain closely tied to Oklahoma.
