The Town of Foster, RI is accepting resumes for a part-time, 20 hour/week position as Director of Social Services. Salary set according to the fiscal budget and Town Council (plus additional hours and compensation under contract with Comprehensive Community Action Program- CCAP, up to 5 hours per week, salary up to $30,000+) with prorated vacation/holiday/sick time. 

Preferred: Minimum Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Mental Health.  A combination of experience and education may be considered.

Responding candidates should:

• have strong interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational and time-management skills 
• be able to work autonomously
• have strong verbal and written communication skills 
• be computer literate with Windows and Microsoft Office 
• have knowledge of community, state, and federal programs and resources in order to facilitate access to services. 

The successful candidate will maintain fiscal responsibility for donations, accurate records and reports. The Director of Social Services is responsible for grant writing and reporting, crisis intervention, community outreach, support and advocacy, and must collaborate with local organizations for programming, fundraising, and resident support.
