PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE RICHMOND CODE OF ORDINANCES

The Richmond Town Council will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 6:00 P.M. on a proposed amendment to Chapter 2.30 of the Richmond Code of Ordinances, entitled Purchasing. The proposed amendment would raise the minimum price of a purchase that requires Town Council approval from $5,000 to $10,000. 

Pursuant to Gov. Gina Raimondo’s Executive Order # 20-05, the public hearing will take place during a meeting remotely broadcast on Zoom. The link to the meeting will be available on the Secretary of State’s open meetings database and on the Town of Richmond website (www.richmondri.com) at least 48 hours before the meeting.  

All interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard on the proposed amendment at the public hearing. The proposed amendment may be altered or amended during the public hearing, without further advertising, as a result of further study or because of the views expressed at the public hearing. Any such alteration or amendment will be presented for comment during the public hearing. 

Interested parties may obtain a copy of the proposed amendment by contacting the Richmond Town Clerk's Office by telephone (401-539-9000, ext. 9) or email (townclerk@richmondri.com) between 9:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, except legal holidays. 

Any person with sensory impairments who will require auxiliary aid during the public hearing must notify the Town Clerk at least 48 hours before the hearing by calling 401-539-9000, ext. 9.
