12 Waukesha Gymnasts Advance To Junior Olympics
Led by a trio of internationally-known coaches, this Waukesha-area gymnastics studio is sending 12 athletes to compete on the national stage
WAUKESHA, WI — Twelve young gymnasts from Salto Gymnastics in Waukesha are advancing to the 2018 Junior Olympics in Oklahoma City after placing at the top of their respective divisions during a regional meet held April 21 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Each of the 12 gymnasts competed in the all-around competition which consists of six events: floor exercise, pommel horse, still rings, vault, parallel bars and the high bar.

Michael Underhill of the Salto Gymnastics Booster Club told Waukesha Patch that in the last two years the studio has transitioned from a regional gym to a "national powerhouse" under the direction of coaches Alexander Belanovski, Andrei Kan and Anthony Ingrelli.
Belanovski was a member of the Belarus National Team from 1990-1998. In 2012, he was honored with the Wisconsin Men’s Coach of the Year and the Men’s Artistic Junior Olympic Coach of the Year.
Kan was a member of the Soviet Union National Team from 1990-1992 and was a member of the National Team of Belarus from 1992-1998. He competed at four World Championships and the 1996 Olympic games.
Ingrelli was a former Swiss Turner's gymnast who was a Junior National Champion on the still rings. He went on to compete for the University of Nebraska where he won All-American honors.
