Police Working To Verify Armed Robbery Claim In Waukesha

A child said someone held him up at gunpoint and stole $200 on Monday night near Roberta Park.

WAUKESHA, WI—A child claimed he was held up at gunpoint near Roberta Park Monday but police are still working to verify details.

A 12-year-old child told police someone with "puffy hair" in a ponytail held him up at gunpoint Monday night near Roberta Park, 251 W. Roberta Ave, according to a Waukesha Police log.

He said he was robbed of $200, the log said.

Police said the details of the incident are unclear and not verified.

Waukesha Police Captain Dan Bauman told Patch police were still trying to sort everything out.

"The alleged victims/suspects may have been both involved in criminal activity prior to, during and after the incident.," Bauman said.

Bauman said he understands the need of the public to get a better understanding of why police were in the area.

Without being able to confirm the details they will not be pushing out information that has not been vetted and verified, Bauman said.
