6-Year-Old Boy Riding Bike Hit, Killed by Truck
A 6-year-old boy was killed after being hit by a pickup while riding his bicycle Saturday night.

A 6-year-old boy was killed after being hit by a pickup while riding his bicycle Saturday night, according to the Waukesha Police Department.
The boy had been getting ice cream with family members at a Dairy Queen restaurant before being hit by the truck about 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of E. Racine Ave. and Cheviot Chase, WISN reported.
The boy was pronounced dead at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, according to police.

"It is with our deepest sympathy to inform you that even with advanced medical intervention by emergency responders and hospital personnel the 6-year-old bicyclist passed away at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. The boy was with members of his immediate family at the time of the incident," police said in a news release on the department's Facebook page Sunday.
The driver of the truck stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The name of the victim has not being released.
