The timing of the donation aligns with ministry's plans to open a Milwaukee County Family Closet in 2021, modeled after The Family Closet in Waukesha. The center provides free clothing and children’s items to foster and adoptive families.
“Many of these toys will be distributed at our initial family appointments at The Family Closet in Waukesha,” said Karen Schlindwein, vice president of education and development for Chosen, in a statement. “The donation also provides inventory to open the new Milwaukee County location. A good number will be given away at our December Toypalooza event, too.”

The group said it still needs toys for infants through toddlers and activities and crafts for older teens.
Donors were also asked for baby items such as older-sized diapers and pacifiers, as well as new car seats, high chairs, safety gates and portable cribs. School supplies are needed as well.
Donations can be made at the Waukesha Family Closet, 217 Wisconsin Ave., Suite 105, during open donation hours, found on the Chosen website.
