All interested persons are hereby notified that the City of Waukesha will hold an open-house style information meeting to discuss the reconstruction of N/NW Barstow Street and Riverfront Street.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 11th at the City of Waukesha City Hall Randall Room (Room 207), 201 Delafield Street, Waukesha, WI, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. You must enter through the upper level doors off Buena Vista Avenue. Parking is available in the upper parking lot of City Hall, or across Delafield St. in the temporary lower parking lot. You may attend anytime during these hours. A short presentation will be held at 5:15 p.m.
As funded in the 2020 CIP budget, it is planned to reconstruct N/NW Barstow Street from Wisconsin Ave. to E. North St. and Riverfront Street from Madison St. to N. Barstow St. in 2020. The meeting is to present the proposed traffic control and project schedule.

The project will include installation of new water main, lining of the sanitary sewer main and laterals,storm sewer rehabilitation, roadway reconstruction, traffic signal replacement & rehabilitation, bridge rehabilitation, pedestrian ramp reconstruction, sidewalk replacement and installation of a wider stone paver terrace. Some existing trees within the terrace will be removed as a part of the project and new street trees will be planted.
Construction is scheduled to begin as early as February 17, 2020. Construction for this project will be phased, however, sections of Barstow St. and Riverfront St. will be closed to through traffic at times throughout the project. Adjacent property owners will not be assessed for the improvement costs.
Representatives from the City of Waukesha Public Works Department, the Waukesha Water Utility, and the project’s prime contractor will be available to address concerns and answer questions.
